Through the Santa Clarita Sister Cities program and collaborating with local organizations, SCVIP has been able to engage in various global collaborative projects.
SCVIP, the Santa Clarita Sister Cities and the City of Santa Clarita recently hosted representatives from Matsudo, Japan, and a student delegation from Pinegrove School in India.
Some of SCVIP’s global collaborative projects include:

Students from College of the Canyons traveled to Granada, Nicaragua from June 5-10th, 2013 in a joint effort with the Global Collaboration Project to implement the Nicaragua Water Tank project which provided access to water for a community of about 600 people in Granada. In addition, the student delegation from COC will be delivered school supplies to schools.
SCVIP Sister Cities teamed up with doctors and nurses to aid kids in Ecuador with medical treatment. During these mission trips, a volunteer medical team operates on children with cleft lips and palates and provides general health care check-ups for the children living in the Napo province of Ecuador. In addition to the medical mission, volunteers from the City of Santa Clarita visited river village schools in the Amazon rainforest to distribute care packages filled with school supplies and greeting cards made by students at Legacy Academy.
SCVIP Board Members, Cevallos and Moore, traveled to Ecuador with staff and students from COC to teach language and arts in Tena
